Hwei Chen is a Los Angeles based gaffer and set lighting technician. As a queer Taiwanese American filmmaker, they are passionate about telling underrepresented stories, especially concerning the global history of anti-colonialism.

After attending Orange County School of the Arts, Hwei studied music and film at University of California, Los Angeles. Currently, Hwei is completing the Hollywood CPR program for IATSE Local 728, Set Lighting Technicians.

Hwei lives in Los Angeles with their partner and four (chaotic) kittens!
